Guide 3 of 10About 3 min to read

In this guide we will go through the hub's own settings: the light ring, buzzer alerts, quiet hours, and a few useful tools.

Opening the Hub Settings

On the hub's web page: open the System tab.

In the app: go to Settings, find your hub under Hubs, and tap the gear icon next to it.

These settings only change the hub itself. They do not affect your tank unit or your tank calibration.

The Display

The round colour display needs no setup. It cycles through your tanks, showing each level in percent and litres with battery and signal, then an information screen with the hub's address.

Light Ring

The light ring fills as the tank fills, so you can read the level from across the room. Each tank has its own colour, and the ring follows the tank on the display.

  • Amber means the tank is low, at 20% or below.
  • A red pulse means it is nearly empty, at 5% or below.
  • A dim white blink means a tank unit has stopped reporting.

If only part of the ring lights up, open the LED strip settings and set Strip type to the 24 LED ring.

Use the Brightness slider to choose a comfortable level. Changes show on the ring straight away.

Under Tank colours you can pick a colour for each tank: Auto, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple, Yellow or White. With several tanks, this makes it easy to tell which one the ring is showing. On the hub's web page, tap Save when you're done.

Identify Hub

If you have more than one hub, use Identify Hub. The hub you are configuring blinks its light, so you can work out which physical hub it is.

Restart Hub

Most settings take effect immediately, so you rarely need Restart Hub. Use it only if the hub behaves oddly or we ask you to. The hub is unreachable for about 30 seconds while it restarts.

Buzzer Alerts

The buzzer sounds at fixed levels:

  • Low, below 20%
  • Critical low, below 5%
  • Overflow, above 95%
  • Sensor offline, when a tank unit has not reported for 15 minutes

If you'd prefer silent operation, turn off Master enable on the hub's web page, or the On switch next to Buzzer alerts in the app. This turns off all buzzer alerts.

With the buzzer on, you can choose between Quiet, Standard and Loud volume.

Quiet Hours

During quiet hours the hub stays silent. They run from 22:00 to 07:00 by default, and you can set your own start and end times. To turn quiet hours off, set both to the same hour.

With Critical overrides quiet hours turned on, which is the default, the critical low alarm still sounds at night. If you'd rather silence everything during quiet hours, turn it off.

Advanced Alerts

Open Advanced alerts for six optional sounds. These four are on by default:

  • Low warning, below 20%
  • Pair success
  • OTA success, when a firmware update finishes
  • OTA failure

These two are off until you turn them on:

  • Wi-Fi reconnected
  • TX low battery, when a tank unit's battery runs low

Tap Play next to any alert to hear it first. On the hub's web page, tap Save buzzer when you're done.

Moving the Hub to a New Wi-Fi

Changing your router or moving house? On the hub's web page, open the Network tab and save the new network in the Wi-Fi card. Or, in the app's hub settings, tap Forget WiFi & restart and type the hub's name to confirm. The hub restarts with its own TankSync network, and you connect it as in First-Time Setup.

The Hub's Touch Pad

Holding the hub's touch pad for about 5 seconds starts pairing, as covered in First-Time Setup. Hold it for 5 seconds again to cancel pairing.

Your hub is now configured. Next up: firmware updates, including online updates, offline updates, and keeping your TankSync system current.
